EARTHQUAKES

This theme shows the known earthquake 
events in the Circum-Pacific region that 
have Richter magnitudes of 6.0 or larger.  
The dataset contains earthquake events 
that have occurred from 780 B.C. to Spring 
2001 A.D., including major historical 
earthquakes whose epicenters have been 
determined from records of deaths and 
damage.  The attribute table includes the 
date, time, and depth (in kilometers) of 
the events.  The data are from the 
National Geophysical Data Center (2001).
