ArcExplorer software

ArcExplorer is a free product for map display and query that operates under Windows 95, 98, or NT. It can be downloaded (as a 7.2MB file) from the Environmental Systems Research Institute's web site, "http://www.esri.com".

To get started with ArcExplorer, consult the software's help information, or

  1. start ArcExplorer
  2. select "Add Themes"
  3. drag-and-drop selected map files (those with a ".shp" extension) onto the ArcExplorer display window
  4. consult the DDS-38 map attribute information in the file "GEOLTABLE", and
  5. modify map colors as needed.
