This map shows the thickness and character of Quaternary deposits (including both glacial and younger, Holocene sediment) for the glaciated area of the United States east of the Rocky Mountains, at 1:1,000,000 scale. The printed version of the map is USGS Map I-1970. The map data, metadata, and images are published as USGS DDS-38 (one CDROM), and are available at this site.
