Columns Format Contents 1-8 I8 Station number - the 8 digit station number uniquely identifying the station. 9-10 2X Blanks. 11-58 A48 Station name - the 48 character name of the station. 59 1X Blank. 60-67 I8 Hydrologic Unit Code (HUC). The first two digits of the HUC specify the Water Resources Council region. The data, if any, for this station will be found in a sub-directory based on these first two digits of the HUC. 68 1X Blank. 69-76 F8.0 Drainage area in square miles. 77 1X Blank. 78-79 A2 State - the two character state code. See the STATES.DAT file for a list of these abbreviations. 80 1X Blank. 81-83 I3 County - the code number of the county in which the gaging station is located.
