Abstract:
This spatial layer contains names and boundaries of the U.S. Geological Survey 30 x 60-minute (1:100,000-scale) topographic quadrangles that contain the upper Washita River basin in southwestern Oklahoma. This spatial layer can be used to acquire information needed to order 30 x 60-minute topographic maps and to register quadrangles for digitizing purposes.
Purpose:
To provide an index for 1:100,000-scale topographic and geologic maps.

This spatial layer is a subset of a spatial data set that contains 1:100,000-scale quadrangles for the Mississippi River basin that can be accessed at <http://ok.water.usgs.gov/gis/greds.html>. The quadrangles showing the upper Washita River basin were selected and a shapefile was created. The layer was projected and imported into the geodatabase and metadata written.

There are five attributes for every polygon feature included in this data set. The first attribute, NAME, contains the name of the quadrangle. The second attribute, STATE1, contains an abbreviation for the state that contains all or the largest part of the quadrangle. The third attribute, STATE2, contains an abbreviation for the state containing the second largest part of the quadrangle. The state abbreviations for this data set are: Oklahoma, OK; and Texas, TX. The fourth attribute, CENTLAT, contains the latitudinal center of the quadrangle. The fifth attribute, CENTLONG, contains the longitudinal center of the quadrangle.
