<abstract>
ESRI shapefile showing the shallow and deep boundary of a
submerged bryophyte mat around the Wizard Island platform in
Crater Lake, OR interpreted from multibeam backscatter data.
</abstract>
<purpose>
These data are intended for science researchers,
students, policy makers, and the general public.
The data can be used with geographic information systems (GIS)
or other software to display the distribution of a submerged bryophyte
mat in Crater Lake, OR.

<procdesc>
The moss distribution model is based on 2000 multibeam acoustic backscatter data as well as 23 line kilometers of lake floor
video collected in 2006. The shallow and deep limit of the byrophyte mat was outlined based on low versus high backscatter intensity. The boundary was compared with the lake floor video observations as well as an empirical process that mapped the moss distribution based on bathymetry, backscatter and other derivative products.
