Fact Sheet 130-01

Subsequent to publication of U.S. Geological Survey Fact Sheet FS-130-01, "The USGS Role in TMDL Assessments," the following errors were found in the report.

Version 1.0--May, 2002
Initial release on the Web only at https://pubs.water.usgs.gov/fs13001/

Page 1: The caption for Figure 1 should read, "Map of watersheds containing impaired water bodies from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency's 1998 list of impaired waters (USEPA, 2000)."

Page 4: The last two sentences in the first paragraph on the page should be changed to read as follows: "The SPARROW model can be used for TMDL assessments in (1) large rivers where other types of modeling are difficult or expensive, and (2) coastal areas. Simulations with SPARROW also provide a good "first look" at major source contribution areas (fig. 5). As this Fact Sheet went to press, an adaptation of SPARROW for application at subregional scales was being tested."

Page 4: In the next paragraph (immediately below Figure 5) the formal name for the USGS Toxics Program should be printed as "USGS Toxic Substances Hydrology Program."

Page 4: In the Selected References on the World Wide Web, http://www.epa.gov/owq/FieldManual/

should read "http://water.usgs.gov/owq/FieldManual/
