Files on this CD represents the digital component of The Geology of the Eminence Quadrangle, Shannon County, Missouri by Randall C. Orndorff, Richard W. Harrison, and David J. Weary, 1999, U.S. Geological Survey Miscellaneous Investigations Series Map I-2653. Included are: 1. Metadata in em_meta.txt or em_meta.htm files. The .htm file is easier to browse, if you have a web browser. The metadata is in FGDC compliant format and contains abstract, citation, distribution, database, accuracy, geographic and other information. 2. ARC export format files and ARCVIEW themes in both geographic coordinates and projected to UTM NAD83. Geographic files are in the geog_dd directory, NAD83 files are in the nad83proj directory. ARCVIEW themes are in the ARCVIEW directory of each projection set. Coverages include: e_bed* = bedrock geology, has both polygon and line data e_flt* = faults, has line data and is also built to polygon topology e_hyd* = hydrology line data from USGS DLG e_hyp* = hypsography (contours) line data from USGS DLG e_pts* = geologic structural data as point data e_quat* = Quaternary surficial units, has both line and polygon data e_rd* = transportation roads line data from USGS DLG e_res* = surficial residual units, has both line and polygon data * suffix on filename indicates projection system: _83 = NAD83, _dd = Geographic, decimal degrees. See em_meta.txt or em_meta.htm for metadata and contact information, as well as descriptions of items in the ARC datatables. The em_meta.htm file is easier to browse. 3. Emin.pdf is a graphic plotfile of the geologic map, as published, in Adobe Acrobat .pdf format. It will produce a plot that faithfully replicates the format, symbols, colors, and linework of the printed map. File size is 10.3 MB, pagesize is 58" x 42" at 100%.
