Compiled by R. F. Yerkes and R. H. Campbell

1995

Canoga Park is a suburban area in the San Gabriel Valley. The area is situated at the foot of the San Gabriel Mountains that separates Canoga Park from greater Los Angeles. Griffith Observatory (pictured) is located atop the San Gabriel Mountains just to the southeast of Canoga Park. The Los Angeles metropolitan area is the only major city in the United States bisected by a mountain range; four mountain ranges extend into city boundaries.
