Version 1.0 of NUREVIEW for Windows -- A Program for Viewing Aerial Gamma-Ray Profile Data

By Joseph S. Duval

Introduction

The program NUREVIEW is a simple program for viewing aerial gamma-ray profile data from the National Uranium Resource Evaluation (NURE) Program of the Department of Energy. The NURE Program obtained aerial gamma-ray surveys which include data for most of the conterminous United States and Alaska. Most of these data were organized into data sets according to quadrangles defined by the 1:250,000 scale maps of the National Topographic Mapping Series of the U.S. Geological Survey. This computer program allows the user to display any one of a number of images of data for the conterminous United States and to select a quadrangle for which the flight lines may be plotted on the image. The user can also select a specific flight line and plot the profile data for that line. NUREVIEW is designed to be compatible with the data published by Duval (1995).

This program designed to run under Microsoft Windows 3.1 or higher and in order to successfully install NUREVIEW, you need to be familiar with the Windows operating system for personal computers. Originally produced on a floppy disk, this open-file report is being presented online as a compressed volume consisting of executables and a readme file.
