Note for Monthly List of Publications: Lund, Karen, Derkey, P.D., Brandt, T.R., and Oblad, J.R., 1999, Digital geologic map database of the Payette National Forest and vicinity, Idaho: U.S. Geological Survey Open-File Report 98-219B, 45 p. This report describes the contents of a digital geologic map data set (approximately 17 MB) which consists of Arc/Info Export format files and associated macro programs. A page-sized, color version of the digital geologic map is included in the report. The geologic map represents a new compilation of both existing geologic data and original mapping. This map is a status report on the present understanding of the geology of this large and geologically complex area. The data set includes macro programs and complete plot files for creating paper copies of ten (10) map plates at a scale of 1:100,000. The data set is available via anonymous FTP from: greenwood.cr.usgs.gov, in the directory: pub/open-file-reports/ofr98-0219-b/. Requirements: A networked computer system is required to copy the data set from the host computer across the Internet. A geographic information system (GIS) capable of importing Arc/Info interchange format files (*.e00 files) is required for access to the digital files. All plot files are stored in HPGL2 format. The digital data set files are in UNIX ASCII format.
