Rare Earth Element Mines, Deposits and Occurrences

This report contains information on mines, deposits, and mineral occurrences

containing rare earth element mineralization.  The data were largely culled

from published literature, much of which dates to the mid-1980's and earlier.  

The status of development of some of the mines may have changed since the 

source reference for the information was published.



This report is available in PDF format in its entirety.  Because the main data

table contains latitudes and longitudes, this data table is also available

as an Excel worksheet called OF02189.xls and a metadata file is included.  

Users of the data should be aware that locations were not available for all 

sites and that some of the data fields may not be necessary for some uses.

Therefore, the user should plan on editing the data before incorporation into 

a Geographic Information System or other use.
