BASALT

Sample 36MW1036 is an olivine phyric vesicular basalt composed of plagioclase (60%), clinopyroxene (30%), chlorite (5%), and oxides (5%). 0.5 to 1-mm vesicles, as well as relict olivine phenocrysts, are filled with/replaced by chlorite. Plagioclase is turgid and occurs as bladed crystals. Oxides are probably magnetite or titanomagnetite.
