Potentiometric surface contours of the Floridan aquifer system in coastal Georgia, 2000. Water levels from selected wells measured in Fall, 2000 were manually contoured from point data by Michael F. Peck, converted to digital vector data by Keith W. McFadden.

- Original lines manually contoured from point data onto mylar overlay - Overlay scanned into tiff image format - Tiff image registered using georeferencing to 9 reference points - Image converted to ArcInfo grid. - Grid vectorized using gridline with thickness = 100m, dangle=300m, and weed=50m - Vectors converted to shapefile and edited to cleanup artifacts - Shapefile converted to ArcInfo line coverage, assigned projection and topology. - Further cleanup in ArcEdit, CLEAN ran with DANGLE=25 and FUZZY=50 - Lines Generalized to 1000 meters, pseudonodes removed. - Atrributes (contour) values added using ArcEditor. - Linetype attribute added for cartographic disply
