Table 1. Sediment grab samples collected off of the southern Long Island shore.

Note: Gravel, sand, silt and clay are listed in weight percentages. Mean, median, standard deviation, skewness, and kurtosis are listed in phi units. Sediment type is based on a classification system modified from Shepard (1963). CLSILT, clayey silt; SLSAND, silty sand; GR >10%, gravel content greater than 10 percent of distribution.
