Table 2. Marine habitats and major organisms along the Florida reef tract. Habitat terminology varies among map authors (References), as indicated by indented columns and spacing between descriptions. Habitat terminology used in this report is in bold type (see Benthic Ecosystems map). Only the most dominant organisms are given for a habitat. A more complete characterization of living assemblages is given in Enos (1977, his table 4) for the habitats he recognized. For more information, contact Barbara Lidz.
