Revised Cretaceous and Tertiary Stratigraphic Nomenclature
in the Colville Basin, Northern Alaska

By C.G. Mull, D.W. Houseknecht, and K.J. Bird

Version 1.0

A revised stratigraphic nomenclature is proposed for Cretaceous and Tertiary geologic units of the central and western North Slope of Alaska. This revised nomenclature is a simplified and broadly applicable scheme suitable for a suite of digital geologic quadrangle maps being prepared jointly by the U.S. Geological Survey and the Alaska Department of Natural Resources, Division of Geological and Geophysical Surveys and Division of Oil and Gas.
