Maps showing geology, structure, and geophysics of the central Black Hills, South Dakota By Jack A. Redden and Ed DeWitt This geologic spatial database has been approved for release and publication by the Director of the USGS. Although this database has been subjected to rigorous review and is substantially complete, the USGS reserves the right to revise the data pursuant to further analysis and review. Furthermore, it is released on condition that neither the USGS nor the United States Government may be held liable for any damages resulting from its authorized or unauthorized use. The database can be downloaded via the Web from http://pubs.usgs.gov/sim/2777/. ArcInfo export files and ArcView shapefiles may be extracted from a gzip-compressed tar file (2777.tar.gz) or zip-compressed file (2777.zip). In addition, Adobe Portable Document Format (PDF) files can be downloaded for the map sheets and the pamphlet, from which paper copies may be printed. This spatial database consists of ArcInfo export files and ArcView shapefiles contained in a gzipped tar archive or zip archive. Both compressed archive files contain both types of spatial database files. See the list below. Please refer to the file 2777.met for detailed metadata documentation for this spatial database. These spatial data sets contain the geologic and structural data for the central Black Hills. The data are supplied in Arc/Info .e00 interchange and ArcGIS shapefile formats.
