Conversion Factors

Multiply By To obtain
meter (m) 3.281 foot (ft)
kilometer (km) 0.6214 mile (mi)
square kilometer (km2) 0.3861 square mile (mi2)
milliliter (mL) 0.03382 fluid ounce (oz)
liter (L) 1.057 quart (qt)
meter per second (m/s) 3.281 foot per second (ft/s)
milligram per liter per hour [(mg/L)/hr] 1.0 part per million per hour (ppm/hr)
micrometer (µm) 3.937 x 10–5 inch (in.)

Temperature in degrees Celsius (°C) can be converted to degrees Fahrenheit (°F) as follows:

°F=(1.8×°C)+32.

Concentrations of chemical constituents in water are given either in milligrams per liter (mg/L) or micrograms per liter (µg/L). One thousand micrograms per liter is equivalent to 1 mg/L. Micrograms per liter is equivalent to “parts per billion.”

Datums

Vertical coordinate information is referenced to the Bureau of Reclamation datum, which is 1.78 feet above National Geodetic Vertical Datum of 1929 (NGVD 29). Horizontal coordinate information is referenced to the North American Datum of 1927 (NAD 27).
