This compact disc contains films 1 through 8 showing numerical simulation results from the Finite Element Surface Water Modeling System Flow and Sediment Transport Module (FESWMS FST2DH). The films have been compressed using the software "Winzip" and should first be downloaded to a local computer and extracted using Winzip software available at Winzip.com. The film files are in AVI (audio video interleave) format and can be viewed using a number of suitable .avi file players. Films 1 through 4 represent a flow trace of the Sni-A-Bar Creek focus reach for the simulated 10-, 50-, 100-, and 500-year recurrence interval floods. Films 5 through 8 represent a flow trace of the Sni-A-Bar Creek full model reach for the simulated 10-, 50-, 100-, and 500-year recurrence interval floods. Flow trace animations are representations of steady state flow simulations that provide visualization of flow behavior within the floodplain of Sni-A-Bar Creek. Focus reach and full model reach animations depict varying flow traces for each recurrence interval flood simulation. Each animation provides a flow trace that is more pronounced for areas of substantial conveyance and less pronounced for areas depicting insignificant conveyance. The flow trace is a conceptualization of the numerical model's ability to characterize two-dimensional flow.
