Revision History for sir 2013-5173 Katherine J. Chase Streamflow Statistics for Unregulated and Regulated Conditions for Selected Locations on the Yellowstone, Tongue, and Powder Rivers, Montana, 1928–2002 ----------------------------------------------------- Posted online November 22, 2013 ----------------------------------------------------- Revised and reposted June 23, 2014, version 1.1 The text version was modified. The following text was deleted from the first paragraph on page 16: However, the largest difference between the approximate drain-age area at the end of a study reach and the drainage area of the nearest bracketing streamflow-gaging station was small (about 7 percent). Thus, linear interpolation provides reasonable estimation of streamflow statistics for locations between stream-flow-gaging stations. The deleted text was replaced with the following text: In fact, at some locations a given streamflow statistic decreased between one streamflow-gaging station and the next downstream streamflow gaging station. In those locations, interpolation on the basis of drainage areas resulted in unrealistically large decreases in the streamflow statistic in reaches containing a large tributary (such as the Powder River). Because this study was largely focused on calculation of streamflow statistics at gaging stations, and because streamflow data to improve interpolation are unavailable, the interpolated data are presented with those unrealistic decreases.
