Subsequent to publication of U.S. Geological Survey Water-Resources Investigations Report 01-4042, “Shallow Ground-Water Quality in the Boston, Massachusetts Metropolitan Area,” errors were found on pages 9 and 10.
On page 9, the unit of measurement used in figure 7 to express the percentage of wells with concentrations of volatile organic compounds should have included above 0.2 micrograms per liter. The caption for figure 7 describes the graph for 10 volatile organic compounds rather than 6. A correct figure 7 is to the right.
On page 10, the number of wells with detections of MTBE above 0.2 micrograms per liter for the CONN NAWQA study unit in figure 8 is 16 rather than 24. A correct figure 8 is below.
