THERMAL EVOLUTION OF SEDIMENTARY BASINS IN ALASKA An interpretive report of thermal maturity-patterns in Alaska was published in paper form in 1996 as USGS Bulletin 2142. This report, consisting of six papers by both USGS and non- USGS authors, presented detailed studies of most of the major sedimentary-basin types found in Alaska: a forearc basin (Alaskan Peninsula), a large foreland basin (Colville Basin), and a tectonically dissected basin fragment (Kandik "basin"). In addition to the vitrinite-reflectance and conodont color- alteration-index data included elsewhere on this CD-ROM, these reports made use of many other varieties of thermal- maturity data, including fluid-inclusion, oxygen-isotope, illite crystallinity, apatite fission-track, and heat-flow data. This directory contains a searchable PDF version of this report that it is extensively cross-linked to allow for easy navigation.
