The USGS Digital Raster Graphics for the Long Valley Caldera region for this report were obtained from the California Spatial Information Library (CaSIL) in Albers projection. Each DRG is available in TIFF format with a corresponding world file to georeference the image.
1:100,000 Scale
Four USGS 1:100,000 scale DRGs (Yosemite Valley, Benton
Range, Bridgeport, and Excelsior Mts.) were mosaiced. Then the
mosaiced DRG was clipped to the study area to create the Long Valley
1:100,000 scale DRG.
1:24,000 Scale
Each 1:24,000 scale DRG from the State of California was
in Albers projection. To match the other data from the Long Valley
Observatory GIS Database, the DRGs were converted to Grid format,
reprojected into UTM, Zone 11 , and finally converted back to TIFF
images using ArcInfo. The following topographic quadrangles are
provided in this report:
Bloody Mountain | Dexter Canyon | Mammoth Mountain | Sulphur Pond |
Convict Lake | Glass Mountain | Mono Mills | Tom's Place |
Crestview | June Lake | Negit Island | Whitmore Hot Springs |
Crystal Crag | Lee Vining | Old Mammoth | Waterson
Canyon |
The data are provided in georeferenced TIFF image format that can be used in a number of GIS and visualization software packages. The TIFF 6.0 standard is copyrighted by Adobe System Incorporated.
