Frequently-Asked Questions about DDS-37

Last Updated 04-10-97

1. How do I perform data searches by station or river name in GSSEARCH?

Logical queries can be made on all elements of the station name variable (STA_NAME), including river name, in the WQ_DATA.DAT file and all station information files except for WQ_STAS.DAT. Revised, executable code will be available soon that will allow all elements in this field in the WQ_STAS.DAT file to be searched.

2. What are the measurement units for instantaneous streamflow?

The units are the same as those reported for daily mean streamflow, cubic feet per second. A convenient listing of all 122 water constituents and their measurement units is available by clicking on the hypertext link "122 water constituents" located on the first WQN96 home page under the section entitled "Water Quality and Streamflow Data".
