                  There is one record (line) for each state.

                The file is sorted on state code (columns 1-2).

Columns  Format  Contents

  1-2     I2     State code - the 2 digit code identifying the state,
                    territory, or province.  Codes for the 50 U.S. states are
                    from FIPS PUB 5-1 (1970).
   3      1X     Blank.
  4-5     A2     State abbreviation - the 2 character state, territory, or
                    province abbreviation.  Abbreviations for the 50 U.S.
                    states are from FIPS PUB 5-1 (1970).
   6      1X     Blank.
  7-30    A24    State name - the 24 character name of the state, territory, or
                    province.  Names for the 50 U.S. states are from FIPS PUB
                    5-1 (1970).


Format descriptions:

   I2    an integer field 2 columns wide.
   An    a character field n columns wide.
   1X    a single blank column.
