After refueling the survey started with a profile of the Dauphin Island breach, then returned to the east end of the island to survey the southern exposure of the island at 500 ft. The Nikon Capture failed and the computer needed to be restarted. We returned to the eastern end and started a second pass at 600 ft at the pier. This ensured complete coverage of the island. Most of the rest of the survey was conducted between 575 and 600 ft. The flight continued along the Mississippi barrier islands, then turned south along the Chandeleurs to the end of the islands. We then transited to Stennis International Airport (HAS) to refuel. After refueling we transited to Breton Island, then across the Mississippi Delta to Bastian Island. We continued westbound along the southern Louisiana barrier islands, to Raccoon Point. The flight continued to Louie Armstrong Airport, New Orleans (MSY), to overnight. September 15, 2008 The survey departed Louie Armstrong Airport and transited to Creole, La. The survey continued along the coast to Freeport, Tx., then returned to William P. Hobby Airport (HOU), Houston, Tx., to refuel. The flight then returned to St Petersburg, Fla.
