    Title: USACE vibracores: Union Beach, Point Comfort, Sandy Hook, 1998
    Abstract:
    "This project was completed by Alpine Ocean Seismic Survey, Inc. under two subcontracts with Coastal Planning and Engineering, Inc. (CP&E). The work was carried out on three potential borrow sites designated as follows: (1) Union Beach; (2) Point Comfort; and (3) Sandy Hook. (MAP 1) The specific objective of this project was to investigate sand borrow areas to determine their suitability as a source of beach fill for plans to improve the conditions in the Union Beach, Keyport, Leonardo and Highlands areas, New Jersey. Alpine completed a similar project in 1995 in the same general area (Port Monmouth Feasibility Study). The general background material contained in this report is taken from the previous 1995 study." The purpose of this data layer is to release a digital version of the coring data from several U.S. Army Corps of Engineers projects located off the coasts of New York and New Jersey and for inclusion in the usSEABED data collection.
