ARCGIS PROJECT READ-ME The map documents and shapefiles used to create the trackline maps provided on this disc can be found in the arc.zip file located in the ARC subfolder of the SOFTWARE folder located at the top level of the disc. The map documents were created using ESRI ArcGIS 8.3 software. The shapefiles provided may also be viewed using other versions of ArcView, ArcGIS, or public domain software ArcExplorer (http://www.esri.com/software/arcexplorer/index.html). The map documents are named all, area_a, area_a1, area_a2, area_a3, area_a4, area_b, area_b1, area_b2, area_b3, area_b4, area_b5, and area_b6. These maps show trackline navigation in the survey area. Inset maps also show start of lines, 500-shot-interval locations along each line, and the location of navigation errors. The list below describes the shapefiles provided with the ArcGIS project. Formal metadata for the shapefiles are available as HTML documents (viewable with any web browser) and XML documents (used by ArcCatalog). start.shp: a point layer of the start of 94CCT02 boomer tracklines 500shot.shp: a point layer of 94CCT02 boomer 500-shot-interval locations trackline.shp: a line layer of 94CCT02 boomer trackline navigation sc_cities.shp: a point layer of South Carolina cities us_coast.shp: an area layer of the U.S. coastline
