    Abstract: No formal abstract is given.
    Purpose: "The principle [sic] objective of the cruise was to collect a suite of piston cores across the California Current with records of at least the last 150 ka so that the temporal history of the current can be investigated.  A second objective was to locate and core pelagic-carbonate sediments above the presumed 3000-m depth of the calcite lysocline on seamounts off the California margin to capture the uncontaminated (by terrestrial components)oceanic signal."
