Abstract:
Imagery of Florida Big Bend Coastline: Series of Landsat Multispectral Scanner (MSS) and Landsat Thematic Mapper (TM) images Path 18/Row 39 and Path 17/Row 40. Images were processed with standardized methods (Raabe and Stumpf, 1997). The methods include geo-rectification, image-to-image registration, and band calibration to allow comparison between multiple dates. Landsat MSS scenes include four bands processed data and two indices: vegetation index and wetness gradient. Landsat TM scenes include 7 bands processed data and four indices: vegetation index, wetness gradient, water reflectance, and temperature converted to degrees Celsius +5.
Purpose:
Time series from 1973 to 1987 for Florida Big Bend coast selected specifically for evaluation of coastal wetlands, and generally for land cover change.
Supplemental_Information:
Each image is georectified and calibrated to permit comparison between multiple dates. Locations: North=Tallahassee=Path18 Row39; South=Cedar Key=Path17 Row40; Image file name = Landsat TM or MSS, North (N) or South (S), date (yymmdd); Six bands of MSS data include Landsat 1-3 Bands 4-7 or Landsat 4 Bands 1-4, plus two indices (biomass and wetness).
