ArcGIS Project Read-Me The map documents and shapefiles used to create the trackline maps provided on this disc can be found in the arc.zip file located in the ARC subfolder of the SOFTWARE folder located at the top level of the disc. The map documents were created with Environmental Systems Research Institute (ESRI) ArcGIS 9.0 software. Shapefiles may also be viewed with other versions of ArcView, ArcGIS, or public domain software ArcExplorer (http://www.esri.com/software/arcexplorer/index.html). The Points to Lines ArcScript, downloadable at http://arcscripts.esri.com/details.asp?dbid=12702, was used to create the trackline layer. The map documents (.mxd) are named 05scc01_full_area_map, 05scc01_areaa and 05scc01_areab. All maps display 05SCC01 trackline navigation. Inset maps (Area A and Area B) also show start of lines and 1,000-shot-interval locations along each line. The list below describes the shapefiles provided with the ArcGIS project. Metadata are available as HTML documents (viewable with any Web browser) and XML documents (used by ArcCatalog). 05scc01_final_tracklines: line layer of 05SCC01 chirp trackline navigation 1000sht_c: point layer of 05SCC01 chirp 1,000-shot-interval locations la_landwater_3ac: Polygon layer of the Louisiana shoreline derived from Landsat imagery line_start: point layer of the start of 05SCC01 tracklines
