Figure 9. Distribution of strontium isotopic compositions (⁸⁷Sr/⁸⁶Sr) measured in borehole and outcrop samples, Nevada Test Site and adjacent areas, Clark, Lincoln, and Nye Counties, Nevada, and Inyo County, California. Permian and Pennsylvanian carbonates constituting the upper carbonate aquifer at the Nevada Test Site (fig. 2) typically have lower ⁸⁷Sr/⁸⁶Sr values than the older Paleozoic carbonates constituting the lower carbonate aquifer (⁸⁷Sr/⁸⁶Sr ranges from figure 3).
