Permian and Pennsylvanian carbonates constituting the upper carbonate aquifer at the Nevada Test Site (fig. 2) typically have lower ⁸⁷Sr/⁸⁶Sr values than the older Paleozoic carbonates constituting the lower carbonate aquifer (⁸⁷Sr/⁸⁶Sr ranges from figure 3).
