ArcGIS Project Read-Me

The map documents and shapefiles used to create the trackline maps
provided on this disc can be found in the arc.zip file located in the ARC
subfolder of the SOFTWARE folder located at the top level of the disc.
The map documents were created with ESRI ArcGIS 9.1 software.  Shapefiles 
may also be viewed with other versions of ArcView, ArcGIS, or public domain 
software ArcExplorer (http://www.esri.com/software/arcexplorer/index.html). 
The Points to Lines ArcScript, downloadable at
http://arcscripts.esri.com/details.asp?dbid=12702, was used to create the
trackline layer.
	
The map documents (.mxd) are named 06scc01_location and 
06scc01_survey.  All maps display 06SCC01 trackline navigation. 
Inset map (Survey Area) also shows start of line and 1,000-shot-interval
locations along each line.

The list below describes the shapefiles provided with the ArcGIS project.
Metadata are available as HTML documents (viewable with any Web browser)
and XML documents (used by ArcCatalog).

point layer of the start of 06SCC01 tracklines

06sscc01_shots_1000:
point layer of 06SCC01 1,000-shot-interval locations

06scc01_trackline:
line layer of 06SCC01 trackline navigation

la_coast:
Polygon layer of the Louisiana shoreline derived from Landsat imagery
(Coastline layer is a LOSCO dataset)
