ArcGIS Project Read-Me The map documents and shapefiles used to create the trackline maps provided on this disc can be found in the arc.zip file located in the ARC subfolder of the SOFTWARE folder located at the top level of the disc. The map documents were created with ESRI ArcGIS 9.2 software. Shapefiles may also be viewed with other versions of ArcView, ArcGIS, or public domain software ArcExplorer (http://www.esri.com/software/arcexplorer/index.html). The Points to Lines ArcScript, downloadable at http://arcscripts.esri.com/details.asp?dbid=12702, was used to create the trackline layer. The map documents (.mxd) are named 02lca02_ada, 02lca02_crystal, 02lca02_jennie, 02lca02_location, 02lca02_mary, 02lca02_rice, and 02lca02_sylvan. All maps display 02LCA02 trackline navigation. Inset maps (shown on the location map) also show the start of lines and 500-shot-interval locations along each line. The list below describes the shapefiles provided with the ArcGIS project. Metadata are available as HTML documents (viewable with any Web browser) and XML documents (used by ArcCatalog). 02lca02_tracklines: Line layer of 02LCA02 boomer trackline navigation 02lca02_shots: Point layer of 02LCA02 boomer 500-shot-interval locations 02lca02_sol: Point layer of the start of 02LCA02 boomer tracklines florida_cities: Point layer of major Florida cities derived from 1:100,000 Florida Division of Emergency vector digital data florida_coastline: Polygon layer of the Florida shoreline derived from 1:100,000 USGS DLG vector coastline map of the USA florida_interstates: Line layer of Florida interstates derived from 1:100,000 1992 U.S. Census Bureau vector digital data florida_lakes: Polygon layer of Florida lakes derived from 1:100,000 USGS vector digital data florida_roads: Line layer of major Florida roads derived from 1:50,000 Geographic Data Technology, Inc.
