DFrupture_meta_DFkilometers.txt - FGDC compliant metadata for DFkilometers feature class in the DFrupture personal geodatabase or in the DFkilometers SHP file. DFrupture_meta_DFlines.txt - FGDC compliant metadata for DFlines feature class in the DFrupture personal geodatabase or in the DFlines SHP file. DFrupture_mdb.zip - zip file of the ArcMap personal geodatabase file DFrupture.mdb. ESRI ArcGIS software version 8.3 or higher is required to use this file after it is extracted. This zip file also contains the three metadata files for the feature classes in the geodatabase (DFrupture_meta_DFlines.txt, DFrupture_meta_DFairphotos.txt, DFrupture_meta_DFlines.txt) DFrupture_shape.zip - zip file with the following .SHP files made from the DFrupture.mdb personal geodatabase feature classes. ESRI ArcView software version 3.0 or ArcGIS version 8.0 or higher is needed to open this file after it is extracted. However, this is a common file format and most modern GIS software should be able to open the files. These files are: DFlines.shp - corresponds to the "DFlines" feature class (2002 surface rupture and related features) DFairphotos.shp - corresponds to the "DFairphotos" feature class (shows the outline of stereo pairs of airphotos) DFkilometers.shp - corresponds with the "Dfkilometers" feature class (which gives distances in kilometers east of the November 2, 2002, epicenter along the fault trace) This zip file also contains the three metadata files for the feature classes in the geodatabase (DFrupture_meta_DFlines.txt, DFrupture_meta_DFairphotos.txt, DFrupture_meta_DFlines.txt) DFrupture.style - ArcMap style for symbolizing lines. ArcGIS software version 8.0 or higher is needed to utilize this file. In the DFrupture.mdb personal geodatabase and in the DFlines.shp shapefile, symbolization is based on the "shortlinename" field. DFrupture250Ktopos.zip - zipped 1:250,000-scale DRG base map for the region of the surface rupture. This is a GeoTIFF file, which can be viewed by most raster graphics software. However, it contains geospatial information, which can be utilized by most GIS software, such as ESRI ArcGIS version 8.0 or higher. google_earth_files.zip - zipped folder containing files for use in GoogleEarth software and other programs. The four files consist of: DFrupture.kmz - KMZ file for use in GoogleEarth software and other programs. This file includes lines outlining landslides, sackungen, and unruptured scarps identified on the eastern Denali fault. If you want to view only the 2002 rupture, you need to turn off those layers. Note: data is not three dimensional. DFrupturesimple.kmz - simplified KMZ file for use in GoogleEarth software and other programs. In this version, all the "on land" 2002 surface rupture features are combined into one feature and shown in red, all the 2002 surface rupture through glacier ice is shown in blue, all 2002 landslides are shown in green, all 2002 sackungen are shown in purple, and all, unruptured, scarps mapped on the eastern Denali fault are shown in black. This file shows polygons at the four corners of stereo air photo pairs used for digitizing the Denali fault surface rupture. Note: data is not three dimensional. DFkilometers.kml - KML file for use in GoogleEarth software and other programs. This file shows points giving the distance in kilometers east of the 2002 earthquake epicenter, which is useful for referring to particular locations. DFrupture_gen.zip - This zip file contains five generated files produced by ArcMAP. These are text files with X, Y, Z coordinates of each line segment in the DFrupture geodatabase. As attribute information is lost in this conversion, the surface rupture mapping has been simplified into five categories, and each category is a separate .gen file: DFsurfacerupture.gen - Text file with X, Y, Z coordinates of digitized line segments of all the "on land" 2002 surface rupture features. These are the features shown in red on Figure 3 of the text. Dfglacierrupture.gen - Text file with X, Y, Z coordinates of digitized line segments of all the 2002 surface rupture features through glacier ice. These are the features shown in blue on Figure 3 of the text. DFlandslides.gen - Text file with X, Y, Z coordinates of digitized line segments of 2002 earthquake-induced landslides.
