Lakes of Oklahoma - This shapefile displays lakes and ponds in Oklahoma. The shapefile originated from the Oklahoma Conservation Commission. The water bodies may have been digitized from the USGS 1:100,000 topographic maps. Attributes were added by the Oklahoma Water Resources Board (OWRB).

Attributes are from the Oklahoma Water Quality Standards and the Oklahoma Water Resources Board. These data were not checked by the U.S. Geological Survey for accuracy or completeness. If a question of accuracy or completeness arise, the user should contact the originator cited in the metadata.
The water bodies may have been digitized from the USGS 1:100,000 scale topographic maps.
Attribute fields were added to the original shapefile. These fields contain information regarding the Oklahoma Water Quality Standards. Major lakes that were built after the U.S. Geological Survey 1:100,000 were published were added to this shapefile. The 1995 digital ortho photos were used to digitize these lakes, which included: R.C. Longmire Lake, Wes Watkins Reservoir, and Bell Cow Lake.
