ArcGIS Project Read-Me The map documents and shapefiles used to create the trackline maps provided on this disc can be found in the arc.zip file located in the arc subfolder of the software folder located at the top level of the disc. The map documents were created using Environmental Systems Research Institute (ESRI) ArcGIS 8.3 software. The shapefiles provided may also be viewed using other versions of ArcView, ArcGIS, or public domain software ArcExplorer (http://www.esri.com/software/arcexplorer/index.html). Disclaimer: The USGS only guarantee data created by this organizations; all other data contained within this disc are to be used at the users discretion. The map documents are named all.mxd, area_a.mxd, and area_b.mxd. These maps show trackline navigation in the survey area. Inset maps also show start of lines and 500-shot-interval locations along each line. The list below describes the shapefiles provided with the ArcGIS project. Formal metadata for these shapefiles are available as HTML documents (viewable with any Web browser) and XML documents (used by ArcCatalog). 500shot.shp: a point layer of 00FGS01 boomer 500-shot-interval locations cities.shp: a point layer of U.S. cities coast.shp: a polygon layer of the U.S. coastline counties.shp: a polygon layer of south Florida counties fl_lakes.shp: a polygon layer of south Florida lakes highways.shp: a line layer of south Florida highways interstates.shp: a line layer of south Florida interstates shoreline.shp: a line layer of the U.S. shoreline start.shp: a point layer of the start of 00FGS01 boomer tracklines trackline.shp: a line layer of 00FGS01 boomer trackline navigation
