ArcGIS Project Readme The map documents and shapefiles used to create the trackline maps provided on this disc can be found in the arc.zip file located in the arc subfolder of the software folder located at the top level of the disc. The map documents were created with PC-compatible Environmental Systems Research Institute (ESRI) ArcGIS 9.3 software. Shapefiles provided may also be viewed using other versions of of ESRI desktop software including their free software, ArcGIS Explorer (http://www.esri.com/software/arcgis/explorer/index.html), or GeoMapApp (http://www.geomapapp.org/), which is compatible with all platforms. The Points to Lines ArcScript, downloadable at http://arcscripts.esri.com/details.asp?dbid=12702, was used to create the trackline layer. The map documents (.mxd) are named 97lca01_location, 97lca02_03_location, dosson, halfmoon, indian_river, indian_river2, round, sebastian_inlet, and sebastian_inlet2. All maps display trackline navigation. The inset maps (indian_river2.mxd and sebastian_inlet2.mxd) also show the start of line and 500-shot-interval locations along each line. The list below describes the shapefiles provided with the ArcGIS project. Metadata are available as FGDC-compliant HTML (viewable with any Web browser), text, and XML documents (used by ArcCatalog). 97LCA01_trkln: Line layer of 97LCA01 boomer trackline navigation 97LCA01_shots: Point layer of 97LCA01 boomer 500-shot-interval locations 97LCA01_sol: Point layer of the start of 97LCA01 boomer tracklines 97LCA02_trkln: Line layer of 97LCA02 boomer trackline navigation 97LCA02_shots: Point layer of 97LCA02 boomer 500-shot-interval locations 97LCA02_sol: Point layer of the start of 97LCA02 boomer tracklines 97LCA03_trkln: Line layer of 97LCA03 boomer trackline navigation 97LCA03_shots: Point layer of 97LCA03 boomer 500-shot-interval locations 97LCA03_sol: Point layer of the start of 97LCA03 boomer tracklines cities: Point layer of major Florida cities derived from 1:100,000 Florida Division of Emergency vector digital data lakes: Polygon layer of Florida lakes derived from 1:100,000 USGS vector digital data roads: Line layer of major Florida roads derived from 1:50,000 Geographic Data Technology, Inc.
