ArcGIS Project Read-Me The map documents and shapefiles used to create the trackline maps provided on this disc can be found in the arc.zip file located in the ARC subfolder of the SOFTWARE folder located at the top level of the disc. The map documents were created with Environmental Systems Research Institute (ESRI) ArcGIS 9.0 software. Shapefiles may also be viewed with other versions of ArcView, ArcGIS, or public domain software ArcExplorer (http://www.esri.com/software/arcexplorer/index.html). The Points to Lines ArcScript, downloadable at http://arcscripts.esri.com/details.asp?dbid=12702, was used to create the trackline layers. The map documents are named all, area_a, area_b, area_c, and area_d. All maps display 96FGS01 and 97FGS01 trackline navigation. The inset maps (shown on the location map) also show the start of lines, 500-shot-interval locations along each line, and the location of navigation errors. The list below describes the shapefiles provided with the ArcGIS project. Metadata are available as HTML documents (viewable with any Web browser) and XML documents (used by ArcCatalog). 96_500shots: point layer of 96FGS01 boomer 500-shot-interval locations 96_startoflines: point layer of the start of 96FGS01 boomer tracklines 96_tracklines: line layer of 96FGS01 boomer trackline navigation 97_500shots: point layer of 97FGS01 boomer 500-shot-interval locations 97_startoflines: point layer of the start of 97FGS01 boomer tracklines 97_tracklines: line layer of 97FGS01 boomer trackline navigation cities: point layer of cities located in the St. Johns River Water Management District coastline: polygon layer of the U.S. coastline
