ArcGIS Project Read-Me The map documents and shapefiles used to create the trackline maps on this disc can be found in the arc.zip file located in the arc subfolder of the software folder located at the top level of the disc. The map documents were created uisng Environmental Systems Research Institute (ESRI) ArcView 3.3 and ArcGIS 8.3 and 10 GIS software. The shapefiles provided may also be viewed using other versions of ArcView, ArcGIS, or public-domain software ArcExplorer (http://www.esri.com/software/arcexplorer/index.html) or GeoMapApp (http://www.geomapapp.org), which are compatible with all platforms. The map documents are named all.mxd, area_a.mxd, and area_b.mxd. These maps show trackline navigation in the survey area. Inset maps also show start of lines and 500-shot-interval locations along each line. The list below describes the shapefiles provided with the ArcGIS project. Metadata are available as HTML documents (viewable with any Web browser) and XML documents (used by ArcCatalog). 01sht500: point layer of 03FGS01 500-shot-interval locations (originated by USGS CMGP) 02sht500: point layer of 03FGS02 500-shot-interval locations (originated by USGS CMGP) 01sol: point layer of the start of 03FGS01 tracklines (originated by USGS CMGP) 02sol: point layer of the start of 03FGS02 tracklines (originated by USGS CMGP) 01trkln: line layer of 03FGS01 trackline navigation (originated by USGS CMGP) 02trkln: line layer of 03FGS02 trackline navigation (originated by USGS CMGP) city_pts: point layer of cities in the St. Johns River Water Management District fl_bnd: area layer of the state of Florida usa_coastline: area layer of the U.S. coastline usa_highways: line layer of U.S. highways
