Field Activity Logs
Field Activity Collection System (FACS) Logs
FACS logs are standardized forms used by the USGS Coastal and Marine Geology Program. For more information see http://walrus.wr.usgs.gov/infobank/programs/html/main/facs.html. Click on the links below to access PDF files containing digital FACS overview, equipment, and crew logs for each cruise. These files can also be found in the FACS folder. Digital FACS logs were generated post-cruise by K. Calderon using the handwritten logbooks and personal accounts of the crew members.
Figure 1 shows boomer acquisition geometry, and Figure 2 shows chirp acquisition geometry. Table 1 displays acquisition parameters for both cruises.
Logbooks
Click on the links below to access PDF files containing scanned images of the observers' handwritten FACS logs and science logbooks for each cruise. These files can also be found in the LOGBOOKS folder. The handwritten FACS crew, equipment, operation, and overview logs were filled out by D. Wiese. The 01RCE05 science logbook was filled out by J. Flocks, and the 02RCE01 science logbook was filled out by J. Kindinger.
