Discharge Estimation for Noninstrumented Sites
Flow was estimated at the four noninstrumented sites; namely, East Highway Creek, Oregon Creek, Stillwater Creek (prior to mid-1999), and East Creek. The analysis performed in Long Sound for East Highway Creek, Oregon Creek, and Stillwater Creek used 15-minute discharge data from West Highway Creek as the independent variable and instantaneous ADCP discharge measurement data at the noninstrumented site as the dependent variable (Hittle and others, 2001). For East Creek, the analysis used 15-minute discharge data from Mud Creek as the independent variable and instantaneous ADCP discharge measurement data at East Creek as the dependent variable (Hittle and others, 2001).

Discharge estimation formulas for East Highway Creek, Oregon Creek and Stillwater Creek were revised after publication of Hittle and others (2001, p. 17) and are presented in table 2. These new formulas utilize the improved West Highway discharge rating (eq. 1). Periodic discharge and salinity measurements were taken, and a comparison was made against corresponding measurements for instrumented sites. Alternate equations were developed for use during periods of missing discharge record at West Highway Creek (table 2).
