Once downloaded, the compressed file can be uncompressed to recover the SDTS files by programs (such as gzip) that are compatible with the Lempel-Ziv compression algorithm. Gzip is available from the Free Software Foundation's Project GNU, is available for several different computer operating systems, and can be downloaded from several sites on the Internet. The gzip command to uncompress the files is "gzip -d -c prefix.tgz >prefix", where "prefix" is the part of the file name before the period. After this, files should be extracted using "tar -xvf prefix".
