This database contains eight ARC/INFO coverages in ARC export .e00 format 
(/ARCE) and ARCVIEW shapefile format (/shapefiles), FGDC compliant metadata 
in ASCII format (metadata.txt) describing the data structure and content, 
and this README file.

This database is not intended for the purpose of reproducing the map plate, 
which is available as a printable PDF file over the internet or as a folded 
paper map through U.S. Geological Survey Information Services (1-888-ASK-USGS).  
It contains the raw geologic data portrayed on the map, but does not include the 
supplemental text and figures or basemap data.
