INTRODUCTION

Files available through this Web site represent the digital component of the
SAVANNAH 4° x 6° Quadrangle of the Quaternary Geologic Atlas of the U.S., 
Miscellaneous Investigations Series, Map I-1420 (NI-17).  The files
contain .e00 files, shapefiles, and pdf files of the map's illustrations
and correlation diagram, and pdf files of the map unit descriptions and
sources of information.  An ARC/INFO aml, keyfiles and shadeset
are included to produce the plot of the data.

This database, identified as I-1420 (NI-17), has been approved for release and publication by the
Director of the USGS.  Although this database has been subjected to rigorous review and is
substantially complete, the USGS reserves the right to revise the data pursuant to further
