Files available through this site represent the digital component of the Quaternary geologic map of the Regina 4° × 6° quadrangle, United States and Canada (U.S. Geological Survey Miscellaneous Investigations Series Map I-1420 (NM-13), as well as PDF files for the cartographic product (a layout of the map sheet that includes a correlation diagram, complete description of map units, tables, and other supplemental illustrations) and accompanying pamphlet that lists sources of the geologic data used in compilation of this map. Included in 1420.tar.gz and 1420.zip (.e00 files and shapefiles) are the following ArcINFO coverages: >reg_l.e00 -- lines that are various glacial features, limits, or margins >reg_p1.e00 -- lines and polygons that form the quadrangle boundary, contacts, shorelines >reg_p2.e00 -- lines that form the margin of concealed glaciotectonic raft >reg_pt.e00 -- points that show locations of important stratigraphic sections; these sections are described in a pamphlet that accompanies the printed map sheet NOTE: The direction of the arcs is significant in that it determines on which side of the arc tics or other decorations are placed to show the side of glacial advance. If these coverages are cleaned the arcs can 'flip' and the tics will end up on the incorrect side of the arc. Please refer to the graphic file for correct placement of tics and other decorations. Included in 1420.tar.gz and 1420.zip is one georeferenced TIFF image, regina_tif, and its accompanying file called regina_tfw Also included are the following files in PDF format: I-1420_NM-13.pdf -- a PDF file of the map sheet I-1420_pamphlet.pdf -- a PDF file of the 37-page pamphlet that lists sources of data used in compilation of this map Also included is the file 1420_meta.txt, an ascii file of FGDC Formal Metadata
