Readme file for Greer, MO 1:24,000 quadrangle coverages

All files with a *83.e00 name are in Arc export format, with a UTM projection, zone 15,units meters, datum NAD83, spheroid GRS80.

All files with a *.e00 name (in separate directory) are in Arc export format, with a geographic projection, units decimal degrees, datum NAD27, spheroid Clarke1866.

All can be imported into ArcView using the Import71.exe utility and into Arc/info using the import command.

coverages are:

bed = bedrock geology as polygons
flts or faults = faults as lines
hydro = hydrology lines
hydrp or hydrop = hydrology polygons (large streams, rivers and ponds). Includes polygons of         the Qa map_unit as islands
hypso or topo = attributed digital line graph style coverage of contour lines
kst or karst = sinkholes as lines
pts or points = structural measurement points, sample locations, wells, springs, etc.
quat = surficial units as polygons
rds = roads as lines
strx = structural contours, elevation of base of Roubidoux Formation

Also included are ArcView themes in each projection, already imported. The ArcView project file (greer_geol.apr)  is set to read the UTM NAD83 theme set.

The ArcExplorer project file (greer_geol.AEP)  is set to read the UTM NAD83 theme set also.
