U.S. Geological Survey Miscellaneous Field Studies Map MF-2372 Hydrostructural Maps of the Death Valley Regional Flow System, Nevada and California--Map A: Structural Framework, Neogene Basins, and Potentiometric Surface; Map B: Structural Framework, Earthquake Epicenters, and Potential Zones of Enhanced Hydraulic Conductivity By Christopher J. Potter, Donald S. Sweetkind, Robert P. Dickerson, and Michele L. Killgore This geospatial database has been approved for release and publication by the Director of the USGS. Although this database has been subjected to rigorous review and is substantially complete, the USGS reserves the right to revise the data pursuant to further analysis and review. Furthermore, it is released on condition that neither the USGS nor the United States Government may be held liable for any damages resulting from its authorized or unauthorized use. This digital geospatial database is distributed in ArcInfo export and ArcView shapefile formats. After extracting the files from the tar.gz or .zip archive, use the ArcInfo IMPORT command to import the coverages and grids for use. In ArcView, create a new view then choose "Add Theme" from the Theme menu to add each shapefile to the view. For additional information on individual coverages, please see the metadata file mf-2372.met. mf-2372.met mf-2372_map_A.pdf mf-2372_map_B.pdf mf-2372_pam.pdf mf-2372.tar.gz or mf-2372.zip: 00README.TXT mf-2372.met mf-2372_met.html arcfiles directory: dvrfspoly.e00 hueb.e00 satb.e00 valb.e00 halo_bd.e00 hstruc2.e00 dvrfs_rd.e00 dvrfs_hptxt.e00 coldsprgs.e00 springreg.e00 county_100k.e00 nts_outline.e00 nvca.e00 stipplebuffer.e00 townpts.e00 pot_cont.e00 cald_txt.e00 flt_txt.e00 hydrostruc_bb.e00 red.e00 green.e00 blue.e00 polybuffer.e00 eq78to86.e00 polynums.e00 geo.prj dvrfs_utm.prj shapefiles directory: dvpolyl.shp (equivalent to dvrfspoly.e00; line attributes for polygon cover) dvpolyl.shx dvpolyl.dbf dvpolyp.shp (equivalent to dvrfspoly.e00; polygon attributes for polygon cover) dvpolyp.shx dvpolyp.dbf halo_bd.shp halo_bd.shx halo_bd.dbf hstruc2.shp hstruc2.shx hstruc2.dbf dvrfs_rd.shp dvrfs_rd.shx dvrfs_rd.dbf dvhptxt.shp (equivalent to dvrfs_hptxt.e00) dvhptxt.shx dvhptxt.dbf coldsprg.shp (equivalent to coldsprgs.e00) coldsprg.shx coldsprg.dbf sprgreg.shp (equivalent to springreg.e00) sprgreg.shx sprgreg.dbf cnty100k.shp (equivalent to county_100k.e00) cnty100k.shx cnty100k.dbf nts_out.shp (equivalent to nts_outline.e00) nts_out.shx nts_out.dbf nvca.shp nvca.shx nvca.dbf stbuffl.shp (equivalent to stipplebuffer.e00; line attributes for polygon cover) stbuffl.shx stbuffl.dbf stbuffp.shp (equivalent to stipplebuffer.e00; polygon attributes for polygon cover) stbuffp.shx stbuffp.dbf townpts.shp townpts.shx townpts.dbf pot_cont.shp pot_cont.shx pot_cont.dbf cald_txt.shp cald_txt.shx cald_txt.dbf flt_txt.shp flt_txt.shx flt_txt.dbf hstrucbb.shp (equivalent to hydrostruc_bb.e00) hstrucbb.shx hstrucbb.dbf plybuffl.shp (equivalent to polybuffer.e00; line attributes for polygon cover) plybuffl.shx plybuffl.dbf plybuffp.shp (equivalent to polybuffer.e00; polygon attributes for polygon cover) plybuffp.shx plybuffp.dbf eq78to86.shp eq78to86.shx eq78to86.dbf polynums.shp polynums.shx polynums.dbf The files used in Map A are: dvrfspoly hueb satb valb halo_bd hstruc2 dvrfs_rd dvrfs_hptxt coldsprgs springreg county_100k nts_outline nvca stipplebuffer townpts pot_cont cald_txt flt_txt hydrostruc_bb To import the files into Arc, at the Arc prompt type: IMPORT COVER {file name.e00} {new cover name} There are three grid files needed for Map A: hueb, satb, and valb.
