Arrival Time Picks from Trans-Alaska Crustal Transect Explosions The southern Alaska regional seismograph network recorded explosions detonated in the U.S Geological Survey?s Trans- Alaska Crustal Transect. In the summers of 1984 and 1985, fifty-five explosions (table of locations and sizes, PDF or Excel) were detonated south of the Alaska Range to investigate crustal structure along seismic refraction lines parallel and perpendicular to the trans-Alaska oil pipeline corridor (map from Fuis and others, 1991). Phases from 52 explosions were picked and timed, primarily from 1- inch-per-second, oscillographic paper records obtained from analog magnetic-tape recordings of signals from network stations.
